Women's Soccer falls to Dickinson in CC Semis, 2-1

CARLISLE, Pa.- The Ursinus College women's soccer team saw its run in the Centennial Conference tournament come to an end on Saturday afternoon, as a late goal by host Dickinson pushed the 11th-ranked Red Devils (15-2-1) to a 2-1 win over the Bears (10-7-1) at Dickinson Park.

Dickinson's sophomore midfielder Marissa Kunkle ended the 1-all stalemate with her goal in the 79th minute on an assist from sophomore forward Kim Callaghan following a save by Ursinus freshman goalkeeper Kara DiJoseph (Turnersville, N.J./Washington Township).

The Bears, who trailed 1-0 following a goal from sophomore midfielder Hannah Richardson in the 36 minute, tied the score at 1-all at 72:05 as freshman forward Sarah Cogswell (Shepherstown, W.Va./Jefferson) scored on an assist by junior defender Monica Oliveto (Robesonia, Pa./Conrad Weiser).

The Bears, outshot 25-7, got nine saves from DiJoseph in the loss. Dickinson will face Johns Hopkins for the championship on Sunday afternoon.
