Women's Soccer nets five goals in 5-1 win over Bryn Mawr

BRYN MAWR, Pa. – Ursinus College senior midfielder Alex Shivers (Pine Beach, N.J./Toms River South) had two goals and an assist as the Bears (5-3, 2-1 Centennial) defeated Bryn Mawr (2-7, 0-4 Centennial) 5-1 on Tuesday afternoon in women's soccer play on the Main Line.

Shivers scored in the 25th and 47th minute and added her assist in the 28th minute as the Bears scored four goals in the first half.

Sophomore forward Cecilia Mansson (Monroe, Conn./Masuk) scored the Bears first goal at 10:37 off of a rebound for a 1-0 Bears lead. Shivers added her first goal at 24:54 off of a deflection for a 2-0 lead.

At 25:55, junior midfielder Jess Porcelan (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) scored as she beat a Bryn Mawr defender for a 3-0 advantage, followed by a goal from freshman forward Sarah Cogswell (Shepherdstown, W.Va./Jefferson) at 27:53 off a Shivers assist.

Shivers scored her second goal of the game at 46:14 on a loose ball for a 5-0 lead.

In goal for Ursinus, sophomore goalkeeper Justin Harvey (Accident, Md./Northern Garrett County) made two saves in 17 minutes, while freshman Sarah Porder (New York, N.Y./Columbia Grammar and Prep School) had a save in 11 minutes. Freshman Natasha Tonia (Franklinville, N.J./St. Joseph High School) and sophomore Claire Yergeau (Ossining, N.Y./Ossining) also saw time in goal.
