Women's Soccer blanks F&M, 4-0

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – It was quite the Centennial opener for Ursinus College junior midfielder Jess Porcelan (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) on Tuesday afternoon against Franklin & Marshall.

Porcelan scored goals at 19, 82 and 84 minutes in as the Bears (4-2, 1-0 Centennial) showed no rust after a nine-day layoff in a 4-0 blanking of the Diplomats (3-2, 0-1 Centennial).

Porcelan's first goal came off of a corner kick at 19:16 as she launched the ball from the left side and it bounced by Diplomat goalkeeper Katie Golding.

She added her second goal at 51:17 for a 2-0 lead, before junior midfielder Brittany Williams (Medford, N.J./Shawnee) got into the act scoring the Bears' third goal at 82:48 for a 3-0 advantage.

At 84:52, Porcelan added her third and final goal on an assist from sophomore forward Cecilia Mansson (Monroe, Conn./Masuk) for the final score.

Ursinus had a 14-5 advantage in shots, with freshman goalkeeper Kara DiJoseph (Turnersville, N.J./Washington Township) making three saves in 83 minutes of play.

The Bears host Dickinson Saturday.
