LANCASTER, Pa. – Ursinus College senior Matan Peleg has been named the Centennial Conference Wrestler of the Week, the league office announced Monday.

Peleg's hard-earned honor comes on the heels of the signature victory of his career to this point, a 2-1 overtime win against Gettysburg heavyweight Paul Triandafilou. The nation's fifth-ranked wrestler, Triandafilou had been unbeaten in 39 career regular-season matches. Peleg used an escape in the second half of the tiebreaker period to clinch his impressive victory and polish off a 32-10 Ursinus win over the Bullets.

Peleg also pinned McDaniel's Billy Emerson in just 24 seconds to cap the Bears' 38-8 triumph over the Green Terror in Saturday's first match. Ursinus heads into the conference championship with an overall record of 15-3 and a 6-1 CC mark.

Peleg, who is 24-5 overall and 6-0 in CC bouts, will likely see Triandafilou again in Saturday's conference championship. A preview of the tournament, including links for live stats and video, will be available on the Ursinus College wrestling team page later this week.
