COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Senior Christian Hoogheem of the Ursinus College wrestling team was named to the All-Centennial Conference Sportsmanship Team, the league announced today as it released the 2015-16 All-CC Wrestling Team.
Because Ursinus did not participate in the conference championship, none of its grapplers were eligible for inclusion on the all-conference squad, which is based upon performance at the championship tournament.
Hoogheem, the Centennial Conference champion at 141 last season, went 4-2 with a pair of pins as the Bears won all six of their league meets this year. After dropping its first three duals, Ursinus reeled off 14 consecutive victories to close out the regular season.
Ursinus, tied for 30th in the most recent MyHOUSE/d3wrestle.com team tournament rankings, returns to the mat at the NCAA East Regional, set for February 27 and 28 on the campus of Washington & Lee University in Lexington, Virginia.
