Wrestling Shows Well at Annual Fall Brawl

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Hosting the annual Fall Brawl, the Ursinus College wrestling team had several standout performances during the non-scoring tourney.

Derek Arnold won his weight class at 157, while Alex Kramer captured his weight class at 149. Keven Hoogheem won his weight class at 133.

At 285, Matan Peleg was second on the afternoon with Chris Tan finishing fourth at 125.

Arnold started his day with a win over Alex McLaughlin of Johns Hopkins, 8-0, before defeating Wade Bishop of McDaniel by pin at 1:46. After tech falling David Brennan of F&M 16-0, he won the title bout over Zach Elfin of Navy Prep 17-14.

Kramer defeated Jordan Shinkus of Navy Prep in his first bout of the day by technical fall 16-1, then major decisioned Clint Wright of McDaniel 8-0.

In the semifinals, he scored another technical fall over Michael Caldwell of Delaware Valley 17-1 then defeated Marty Margolis of Navy Prep 3-1 in the finals.

Hoogheem won his first bout over Barrett Connor of Gettysburg by technical fall 18-1, then beat Christian Vallis of Johns Hopkins, 9-4.

In the semifinals, he beat Connor Kirkegard of Delaware Valley 3-1, and then defeated Austin Sisco of Western New England, 11-4.

Peleg pinned Mike Burek in his first bout at 4:30, then pinned Thomas Tehan of Delaware Valley in :32. In the semifinals, he major decisioned Charlie Hancock 8-0 and then fell to Zachery Roseberry of Delaware Valley 6-1.

Tan won his first bout over Lenny Ogozalek of Gettysburg, 11-6, then defeated James Gill of TCNJ, 6-2.

In the semifinals, he lost to Evan Krumheuer of Johns Hopkins, 8-6, then defeated Brenden Velez of Delaware Valley 7-5 in the consolation semifinals. In the third-place match, he lost to Dell Ngonga of Liberty 10-8.
