COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – While the Ursinus wrestling schedule does not begin for another week, one wrestler has already made headlines.

Junior 149 pounder Derek Arnold (Centrevilla, Va./Westfield) was ranked first in his weight class by InterMat Wrestling heading into the season. Last year, Arnold won his weight class at the Centennial Conference Championships. He would eventually finish fourth at the NCAA Division III Championships in Hershey, earning All-American status.

He will start his season on Sunday afternoon in Atlanta, as he will wrestle as part of the 50th annual Hire Heroes NWCA All-Star Classic hosted by Georgia Tech.

Arnold will wrestle senior Chris Perez of Princeton as one of seven Showcase Matches.
