Wrestling tunes up for CC dual schedule with stop at Mount Saint Vincent Open

RIVERDALE, N.Y. – The Ursinus College wrestling team competed in its final regular season tournament at the College of Saint Vincent Invitational outside of New York City. There was no team score.

Sophomore Christopher Donaldson (Wilmington, Del./Salesianum School) continued his strong start as he won the 125 pound bracket with a pin and two major decisions.

Freshman Kevin Hoogheem (Deerfield, Ill./Deerfield) finished second at 125.

The Bears had five third-place finishes as 125 pounder Christian Hoogheem (Deerfield, Ill./Deerfield), 133 pounder freshman John Morrison (Berkeley Heights, N.J./Governor Livingston), 149 pounder senior Curtis Watkins (Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield-Ward), 165 pounder freshman Gnoleba Seri (Bergenfield, N.J./Bergenfield) and 174 pounder freshman Gabriel Gordon (Millburn, N.J./Millburn) all found a spot on the podium.

Donaldson defeated Chase Andrew of AIC by fall in 4:28, then defeated Janik Santana-Quintana of NYU 17-8. In the title bout, he defeated teammate Keven Hoogheem 16-5.

Ursinus will take on Merchant Marine and Gettysburg at their first Centennial dual meet on Saturday at Merchant Marine.
