COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus College wrestling team started its 2012 dual schedule with a spotless 4-0 mark at the North/South Duals Saturday at Floy Lewis Bakes Fieldhouse.

The Bears started the day with a 50-0 blanking of Scranton, then downed Trinity (Conn.) in round two 26-12. In round three, the Bears blanked Coast Guard 43-0, then closed with a 32-3 win over Oneonta in round four.

Against Scranton, freshman Christopher Donaldson (Wilmington, Del./Salesianum) picked up a forfeit win at 125, while senior Alex Blank (Ridgefield, Conn./Ridgefield) and freshman Joshua Bowman (Cochranville, Pa./Octorara Area) picked up pins at 133 and 141 for an 18-0 lead.

At 149, senior Connor McCormick (Pottstown, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) scored a 9-0 major decision win, with freshman Richard Jasinski (Sellersville, Pa./Penn Ridge) getting a pin in 157.

At 165, junior William Reick (Jim Thorpe, Pa./Jim Thorpe) won 4-2, followed by freshman Matt Kreuger (Royersford, PA./Spring-Ford) won his march at 174 with a 9-4 win. At 184, freshman Daniel Manganaro (Horseheads, N.Y./Horseheads) was a winner by fall, followed by wins from senior Connor McNamara (Winchester, Mass./Winchester) (major decision, 12-1) and a forfeit win by junior Bill Cornely (Cinnaminson, N.J./Camden Catholic).

Against Trinity, Donaldson won at 125 by forfeit, followed by decision wins from Blank, sophomore Elisha Gaylor (West Reading, Pa./Wyomissing) (141), McCormick and Jasinski, building a 20-0 lead. McNamara scored a pin in 3:19 at 197 for the final Ursinus points.

Both Gaylor and Jasinski registered pins against Coast Guard, while McNamara picked up a major decision win.

In the final match of the day, Donaldson and freshman Ryan Garey (Montgomery Village, Md./Bullis School) got major decision wins.
