Ursinus hosted their annual Fall Brawl tournament this weekend with the Bears wrestling an impressive tournament.
Freshman Chris Donaldson took first place in the 125-pound bracket defeating Holt Johnson of Gettysburg with a pin in 3:00 and then defeating Corey Aspril from Elizabethtown with another pin in 2:31. In his final bout he defeated Abe Evans of Gettysburg with a decision score of 7-5.
At 133 pounds Senior Alex Blank took third defeating Matthew Flynn of Stevens with a major decision of 13-2 and defeated Kenneth Nakagawa of Elizabethtown 9-2. He then defeated Sean Ensign from McDaniel 11-5 before losing in the final bout to Matt Spano of McDaniel 4-3
Junior Conner Gregory took third after losing his first match to Mike Tancredi from McDaniel 5-4 Gregory came back to defeat Kevin Aspril from Elizabethtown with a pin at 3:39, Kenneth Nakagawa of Elizabethtown 10-0, and James McGarry from McDaniel 8-0. After a medical forfeit from Kyle Liberato of West Chester University, Gregory defeated Mike Tancredi of McDaniel 5-4.
Sophomore 141 pounder, Elisha Gaylor took third at the tournament defeating James Barlow of Alfred College with a pin at 1:12, and then defeating Chris Gogatz from Hunter College 10-8. Then after losing to Sean Messina from Hunter College 15-1, he defeated James Barlow with a pin at 6:16 and then Defeated Chris Gogatz 4-3.
At 157 pounds Junior Andrew Corbett took third place. In the first round he pinned Tim Goldcamp from Elizabethtown in 2:24. He then defeated Josh Moore from McDaniel 9-1before losing to Matt Cartusciello of Hunter College 13-3. In his first wrestle back bout he defeated Matt Madden from Valley Forge Military Academy 7-1 and won third place against Jordan Moser of Elizabethtown with a pin at 1:49
Freshman Richie Jasinski took second place at 165 pounds defeating Jesse Capello-Colon of Hunter College 4-2 after a first round bye. He then pinned Elizabethtown's Michael Evarista in 0:54. In the next round he defeated Zach Zotollo from The College of New Jersey 9-4 before losing to Zach Thomas from Gettysburg in the final round 12-2.
Freshman Dan Manganaro took first place 184 pounds. After a first round bye he defeated Matt Gross of Albert College with a pin at 1:25, then defeated Myles Tornetta from West Cheater University 4-2. In the final round he won by a major decision of 15-6 against Mike Sheehan from Gettysburg.
Mike Williams took third at 184 after losing to Myles Tornetta from West Chester University 3-1; he defeated Matt Gross of Alfred College 9-4. Then he pinned Anton Serhan of Gettysburg in 3:40. In the final bout he defeated Myles Tornetta 4-2.
