Women's Lacrosse Receives Academic Honors

SPARKS, Md. – The Ursinus College women's lacrosse team and five of its players received academic honors from the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA), the organization announced Wednesday.

The Bears were recognized as an Academic Honor Squad for the fourth year in a row, while 2019 graduates Emily Blaszkow, Emily DiGiorgio, and Bridget Sherry were honored on the Division III Academic Honor Roll alongside rising seniors Rachel Dunne and Haley O'Malley.

Ursinus was one of 312 programs across all NCAA divisions and the NAIA to garner Academic Honor Squad status, given to teams that posted a team grade-point average of 3.0 or better during the 2018-19 academic year. The Academic Honor Roll recognizes juniors, seniors, and graduate students who recorded a GPA or 3.50 or higher.

Blaszkow, a Biology major and second team All-Centennial Conference selection, was named to the Academic Honor Roll for the second consecutive year. She was joined by fellow all-conference performer Sherry, who graduated in May with a degree in economics. DiGiorgio (Business), Dunne (Neuroscience), and O'Malley (Biology) were all likewise named to the Centennial Conference academic honor roll.
