Women's Lacrosse Duo Named All-CC

2019 All-CC Team

LANCASTER, Pa. – A pair of Ursinus College women's lacrosse seniors were recognized for their outstanding final seasons with spots on the All-Centennial Conference team.

Defender Emily Blaszkow was named to the second team, while midfielder Bridget Sherry received honorable mention.

Sherry is an all-conference performer for the third time in her career following a second-team nod in 2015 (when she was also named rookie of the year) and an honorable mention laurel in 2016. Also a four-time All-CC selection in field hockey, Sherry was an all-league recipient in all seven semesters of her athletic career.

Sherry was one of the best all-around players in the conference this season, leading the CC with 50 ground balls and ranking second with 30 caused turnovers. She also finished 10th with 50 ground balls, leading the Bears in all three categories. Sherry continued to be a threat on the offensive end as well, registering a career-high 19 goals and adding seven assists. She finished her career with 123 draws, 110 ground balls, 73 caused turnovers, 45 goals, and 23 assists.

An All-CC star for the first time in her career, Blaszkow was second to Sherry in draw controls (51), ground balls (26), and caused turnovers (25) in another outstanding year as the anchor of the Bears' defense. Blaszkow was a three-year starter and ended her career with 77 ground balls, 76 draw controls, and 66 caused turnovers.

Sherry was also named to the All-Sportsmanship Team.
