Women's Lacrosse falls to Muhlenberg, 20-12

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Muhlenberg's Stephanie Umbach had seven goals and three assists as the Mules (9-6, 5-4 Centennial) scored ten goals in each half in a 20-12 win over Ursinus (4-13, 2-7 Centennial) in women's lacrosse action on Saturday.

For Ursinus, sophomore attack Emma Ebert (Philadelphia, Pa./Penn Charter) and freshman midfielder Franny Liberatoscioli (Malvern, Pa./Great Valley) each had three goals, with sophomore midfielder Amy Kohout (West Deptford, N.J./Gloucester Catholic) scoring two goals and adding three assists.

Senior midfielder Kitty Dawson (Hillsborough, N.J./Hillsborough) had a goal and an assist, finishing her career with 93 goals.

Ursinus took an early 1-0 lead when freshman attack Taylor DeBarnardi (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) scored on an assist from Dawson 1:54 into the game. From there, Muhlenberg scored the next five goals and built a 5-1 lead. Libertoscioli stopped the bleeding when she scored her first goal of the game at 21:30 to cut the deficit to 5-2.

From there, the two teams would trade goals with Ursinus getting to within four twice but could not get any closer.

Individually, freshman attack Julia Fleming (Glenside, Pa./Penn Charter) had seven draw controls, with sophomore defender Lisa Grous (Washington Township, N.J./Bishop Eustace) having four. Libertoscioli had four ground balls, as did freshman goalkeeper Meaghan Corbin (Danville, Calif./Carondelet). Corbin finished with seven saves on the day.
