Ursinus Women's Lacrosse Beat Scranton 14-4

                                              Women's Lacrosse Rolls Royals

The Ursinus Women's Lacrosse Team cruised to a 14-4 victory of the University of Scranton behind a dominate offensive performance. The Bears controlled the game start to finish to earn their fourth victory of the year.

Freshmen midfielder Taylor DeBernardi (Springfield, PA) got the scoring started less than three minutes into the game when junior midfielder Brynn Dietzel (Warrington,PA) found DeBernardi streaking to the net to give the Bears the 1-0.

Ursinus was able to run off eight straight goals before the Royals found the scoreboard. Senior midfielder Kitty Dawson (Hillsborough, NJ) tallied her 22nd goal of the season when she found the back of the net to give the Bears an 8-0 lead at the 11:52 mark.

Sophomore midfielder Meghan Kerr (Warwick, NY) scored Scranton's only goal of the first half when she netted a goal at the 10:19 mark of the first half.

The second half was much of the same as Ursinus out scored the Royals 6-3. Junior midfielder Mary Deliberti (Fairfield, CT) netted two goals in the half alone, scoring four on the night.

One of the biggest reasons for Ursinus' dominate win was freshmen goalie Meaghan Corbin (Danville, CA), who made her first start of the season, making 10 saves on the night. Corbin set the tone early on in the game with big save after big save turning back everything Scranton threw at her.

Ursinus was also able to dominate in the offensive zone taking 26 shots on the night and limiting themselves to only 15 turnovers.

The win moved the Bears to 4-8 overall while Scranton dropped to 4-6 overall. Ursinus will return to league play this Saturday, April 11th, as they travel to Gettysburg, PA to take on the Bullets of Gettysburg College at 1:00 PM.
