Women's Lacrosse shuts out Bryn Mawr

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa – Ursinus College women's lacrosse snapped their three game losing streak with a 14-0 shut out of Bryn Mawr College Saturday afternoon, at Patterson Field.

The Bears improve to 6-4 and 2-2 in the Centennial Conference while Bryn Mawr falls to 4-7 0-5 in conference.

Sophomore goal keeper Margaret Philbin picked up her sixth win of the season as the Bears defense shut down the Owls, holding them to two shots the entire game.

On the offensive end, ten different players for Ursinus recorded goals and Sophomore Katie McElroy lead the bears with three points off one goal and two assists. Freshman Zoe Barnett-Ohori scored her first career goal at 15:19 in the second period, and minutes later added her second goal at 9:20.

The Bears wasted no time scoring six goals in the first ten minutes of the contest, going into the half with a 12-0 lead and out shooting the Owls by 23-1 margin. In the second half the Bears finished their strong defensive performance by only allowing one shot in the second half.

Ursinus will travel to non-conference opponent Scranton (2-5) Tuesday April 8th at 7:00 pm.
