Women's Lacrosse downed by Washington, 10-4

CHESTERTOWN, Md. – Trailing 5-4 with 26:34 left in the game, Ursinus saw Washington College score the final five goals of the game as the Shorewomen (5-3, 1-1 CC) defeated Ursinus (5-4, 1-2 Centennial) 10-4 on Wednesday night in women's lacrosse action.

Freshman Emma Ebert and Jayme Verman each had a goal and an assist in the loss, while sophomore Devin Brakel and senior Kitty Dawson each had a goal.

Washington was led by three goals from Emily Hubley and Katherine Vincent, while Carly Eisenbrandt had two.

After Washington scored the first two goals of the game, Ebert scored her 14th goal of the season with 28:29 left in the first half to cut the deficit to 2-1. Dawson's goal with 18:01 left kept Ursinus within one goal at 3-2, before Eisenbrandt scored back-to-back goals to give Washington a 5-2 lead.

Brakel and Verman would score two straight to get Ursinus within one at 5-4, before Washington scored the final five goals of the game.

For Ursinus, sophomore Mary Deliberti had four ground balls, with Verman and senior Amber Moyer each had two draw controls. In the loss, sophomore goalkeeper Margaret Philbin had 11 saves.

Ursinus hosts Bryn Mawr on Saturday.
