Haverford outlasts WLax, 11-10

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Haverford scored three goals in the final 1:55, including the game-winner with three seconds left in the second half as the Fords (12-4, 6-2 Centennial) defeated Ursinus (4-11, 1-7 Centennial) 11-10 in women's lacrosse play on Wednesday at Patterson Field. 

The Bears led 10-8 with 2:45 left in the game on a goal by sophomore midfielder Kitty Dawson, which was the biggest lead by the Bears since a three-goal lead at 5-2 with 6:12 on a goal by junior attack Amber Moyer.

Junior attack Megan Gallagher scored two of the Fords' final three goals in the game, including the eventual game-winner with three ticks left. 

She finished with four goals, while senior midfielder Perrin Downing had three. 

Ursinus was led by Moyer with three goals, while Dawson had two goals and two assists. Freshman midfielder Devin Brakel had two goals and an assist in the win.

Individually, three Bears (freshman goalkeeper Margaret Philbin, junior midfielder Caroline Cannon and freshman attack Brynn Dietzel) each had three ground balls. 

Dawson finished with four draw controls, while Philbin had 11 saves in the loss.

Ursinus goes to Muhlenberg on Saturday.
