COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Franklin and Marshall got four goals each from Emily Everdell and Caroline Krohn as the seventh-ranked Diplomats (11-2, 6-0 Centennial) defeated Ursinus (4-9, 1-5 Centennial) 18-6 in women's lacrosse action on Patterson Field on Wednesday.
Trailing 12-2 at intermission, Ursinus did scored three of the first five goals of the second hall but could not complete the rally.
Ursinus got two goals from junior attack Amber Moyer (Womelsdorf, Pa./Conrad Weiser) and a goal each from freshman midfielder Mary Deliberti (Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield-Ludlowe), freshman attack Jessica Hill (West Deptford, N.J./West Deptford), sophomore midfielder Kitty Dawson (Hillsborough, N.J./Hillsborough) and senior attack Lauren Garganio (Medford, N.J./Shawnee). Dawson and senior midfielder Elizabeth Chatburn (Dresher, Pa./Upper Dublin) each had assists.
Ursinus was even with the Diplomats 1:49 into the game when Hill scored unassisted. Garganio's goal at 13:52 stopped a 6-0 F&M run.
Chatburn picked up three ground balls, with Dawson grabbing five draw controls.
In goal, junior Riley Pembroke (Great Falls, Va./Langley) made four saves in 22 minutes, while freshman attack Margaret Philbin (Danbury, Conn./Ridgefield) made two saves in the final 38 minutes.
Ursinus hosts McDaniel on Saturday for Senior Day.
