TCNJ downs WLax, 17-6

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The College of New Jersey senior attack Alex Spark scored seven goals, while senior attack Jillian Nealon added five and an assist as the seventh-ranked Lions (6-2) defeated Ursinus (2-5) 17-6 Tuesday night at Patterson Field.

Spark scored three of her goals in the first half as TCNJ took an 11-1 lead at one point in the second half. 
Still, Ursinus fought back and got to within seven twice in the second half. 

For the Bears, junior attack Amber Moyer (Womelsdorf, Pa./Conrad Weiser) scored three goals and had an assist, while three other players scored on the evening. 

Individually, freshman midfielder Mary Deliberti (Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield-Ludlowe) had four draw controls with freshman midfielder Devin Brakel (West Windsor, N.J./WW-Plainsboro) had three. Brakel picked up a team-high three ground balls.

In goal, junior Riley Pembroke (Great Falls, Va./Langley) had nine saves in the first half, with freshman goalkeeper Margaret Philbin (Danbury, Conn./Ridgefield) making five in the second half. She also had three caused turnovers. 

For TCNJ, junior midfielder Lauren Pigott had a game-high five draw controls, with Nealon taking four. 

Sophomore attack Erin Waller had four groundballs to pace the Lions, who got two saves from junior goalkeeper Kelsey Zinck.

Ursinus hosts Dickinson on Saturday.
