Women's Lacrosse downed by 7th-ranked Diplomats, 15-4

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall sophomore attack Caroline Krohn had a game-high five goals, while senior attack Erin Dunne had three as the seventh-ranked Diplomats (11-2, 6-0 Centennial) defeated Ursinus (7-6, 3-3 Centennial) 15-4 Wednesday night in women's lacrosse play.

Both senior midfielder Cat Serpe and senior attack Lauren Ehrhardt crossed the 100th goal mark in their careers in the game, as the Diplomats pounded out 31 shots on the night.

For Ursinus, senior midfielder Alyssa Thren (Barto, Pa./Upper Perkiomen) had two goals, with senior attack Emily Diehl (Lebanon, N.J./Voorhees) and freshman midfielder Kitty Dawson (Hillsborough, N.J./Hillsborough) each scoring one.

Ursinus kept it close early on, taking a 2-1 lead at 24:28 as Dawson scored her 25th goal of the season. From there, the Diplomats scored the next eight to take a 9-2 lead with  9:30 left. Thren scored her goals back-to-back to cut the deficit to 9-4.

However, F&M scored five straight goals to finish out the game.

Individually, Thren finished with four draw controls, while sophomore goalkeeper Riley Pembroke (Great Falls, Va./Langley) and sophomore defender Courtney Stewart (Burlington, N.J./Pennington) each grabbing two ground balls.

Pembroke finished with eight saves in the contest.

Ursinus will host McDaniel on Saturday.
