Doubling Down

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Seven was the lucky number for women's lacrosse as Ursinus (5-3, 2-0 Centennial) scored seven goals in each half on their way to a 14-9 win over Dickinson (4-5, 1-1 Centennial) Saturday afternoon at Patterson Field.

With the score tied 8-all with 19:01 left in the game, Ursinus outscored the Red Devils 6-1 over the final 19:01 to take the win and improve to 2-0 in the conference.

Ursinus was led by three goals from senior attack Emily Diehl (Lebanon, N.J./Voorhees), three goals from junior midfielder Taylor Egolf (Wynnewood, Pa./Lower Merion ) and three goals from freshman midfielder Kitty Dawson (Hillsborough, N.J./Hillsborough ).  Senior midfielder Alyssa Thren (Barto, Pa./Upper Perkiomen), junior midfielder Elizabeth Chatburn (Dresher, Pa./Upper Dublin), senior attack Kim Peifer (Collegeville, Pa./Methacton), junior attack Lauren Garganio (Medford, N.J./Shawnee) and sophomore attack Amber Moyer (Womelsdorf, Pa./Conrad Weiser) each added a goal of their own.

Thren finished with four draw controls, while Chatburn and sophomore midfielder Caroline Cannon (Garrison, N.Y./James I. O'Neill) each had three.

Peifer scooped six ground balls and Thren added five more.

In goal, sophomore goalkeeper Riley Pembroke (Great Falls, Va./Langley) had seven saves.

Ursinus will travel to Washington College on Wednesday.
