One Ticket Please: WLax to make return trip to CC playoffs after defeating Haverford, 8-4

HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Ursinus College women's lacrosse team is headed back to the Centennial Conference playoffs.

The Bears (7-8, 5-3 Centennial) locked up a return trip to the playoffs with an 8-4 win over Haverford (9-6, 5-3 Centennial) at Swan Field. The Bears have locked up at least the fourth-seed, and can grab a first-round bye with a win over Muhlenberg on Friday afternoon.

The Bears turned up the defensive pressure in the first half, blanking the Fords in the first 30 minutes and forcing 11 turnovers.

For Ursinus, sophomore midfielder Elizabeth Chatburn (Dresher, Pa./Upper Dublin), senior attack Lindsey Urban (Doylestown, Pa./C.B. East) and junior midfielder Alyssa Thren (Barto, Pa./Upper Perkiomen) each had two goals, while Chatburn had two assists. Urban scored both of her goals in the first half, as the four goals in the first 30 minutes was all the Bears needed.

Senior midfielder Allison Furman (Glibertsville, Pa./Boyertown) picked up five ground balls, while Thren and Chatburn each had two caused turnovers.

In goal, sophomore Jackie Kimmel (Hatboro, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham) had five saves for Ursinus.
