Women's Lacrosse beats Muhlenberg, 12-3, clinches playoff spot

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Ursinus College women's lacrosse sophomore  midfielder Emily Diehl (Lebanon, N.J./Voorhees) scored a game-high four goals as the Bears (11-4, 6-2 Centennial) soared to a spot in the Centennial Conference playoffs with a 12-3 win over Muhlenberg (8-6, 3-5 Centennial) Wednesday afternoon.

The Bears also got two goals from freshman mid fielder Meghan Morley (West Chester, Pa./Westtown) and senior midfielder Elizabeth Cannon (Garrison, N.Y./James I. O'Neil) as they mounted a 10-1 halftime lead.

Diehl also had two assists for the Bears, who will play Franklin & Marshall in the quarterfinals next Saturday in Gettysburg. The Bears locked up the third seed with the win.

Defensively, Morley had two caused turnovers, while junior midfielder Allison Furman (Gilbertsville, Pa./Boyertown) had seven ground balls.

In goal, senior Alex McBride (Sewell, N.J./Washington Township) continued to provide solid goalkeeping as she made seven saves in the win.

Ursinus hosts Gettysburg Saturday in the regular season finale.
