Women's Lacrosse falls at TCNJ, 22-8

EWING, N.J. – Fifth-ranked The College of New Jersey outscored Ursinus 11-2 after the game was tied 1-all as the Lions (5-0) defeated Ursinus (4-2) 22-8 on Thursday night in women’s lacrosse play.

The Bears had tied the score at 1-all with 27:06 left as junior attack Lindsay Urban (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks East) scored on an assist from junior midfielder Emily Hummel (Lumberton, N.J./Moorestown Friends).

TCNJ then scored the next four, before freshman attack Meghan Morley (West Chester, Pa./Westtown) scored with 22:25 left on an assist by senior midfielder Elizabeth Cannon (Garrison, N.Y./James I. O’Neil) to make the score 5-2. The Lions then scored the next seven goals to put the game out of reach.

Sophomore midfielder Kim Peifer (Collegeville, Pa./Methacton) finished the game with two goals for the Bears, with Cannon adding in two assists.

In goal, senior goalkeeper Alex McBride (Sewell, N.J./Washington Township) had six saves in 39 minutes, while freshman goalkeeper Jackie Kimmel (Hatboro, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham) made two saves in 21 minutes.

Ursinus will host McDaniel on Saturday.
