Lamarca Sits in First Place After Day One of Centennial Conference Championships.

HONEY BROOK, PA. - Senior Jessica Lamarca currently sits in 1st place after day one of the Centennial Conference Championships held at the Honeybrook Golf Club. Lamarca is holding a one-shot lead after finishing her opening with an eight-over 78. Just behind Lamarca sit Ashley Ea (Cabrini), Hunter Gillis (Marymount), and Maria Wilutis (Gettysburg) all tied for 2nd place at nine-over.  

She opened her round with bogies on three of the first four holes but used a birdie on the par-5 fifth hole to get back to two-over. Lamarca finished the front nine with a 39 (+3) and used five pars on the back nine to finish with a 40 (+5).  

The Ursinus College women's golf team is sitting in 6th place overall after totaling a team tally of 381 (+97). The Bears currently sit just two shots behind Muhlenberg (379) while Gettysburg is in first place after a tally of 342 as a team for their opening round. Marymount (347) is just five shots behind the Bullets, while Franklin & Marshall (359) and Dickinson College (365) round out the top-four. Meanwhile, Cabrini (406) and McDaniel (447) reside in seventh and eighth place respectively.  

First-year Kaylin Chen also turned an excellent round on Saturday, as she finished with a 91 and is tied for 15th place heading into the final round tomorrow. Chen used pars on the 2nd and 3rd holes to secure a 45 (+9) on the front nine and finished the back nine with pars on the par-three 13th and 17th holes for a 46 (+11).  

Carolyn DeCicco currently sits in 29th overall after finishing her opening round with a 104 (+33). DeCicco day was highlighted by a par on the par-four ninth hole to finish her front nine with a 52. 

Teammates Elliot Schott (107) and Rebecca Chernoff (115) sit in 33rd and 34th overall after their first round. Schott used pars on the 8th and 11th holes for a 55 (+19) on the front nine and a 52 on the back nine. Chernoff signed for a 115 after collecting bogeys on the par-four 6th and par-three 17th hole.
