Chen leads Women's Golf at Dickinson Spring Invitational

CARLISLE, Pa. –  In a final tune-up before Centennial Championships, the Ursinus Women's Golf team finished in sixth place at the Dickinson Spring Invitational at the Carlisle Barracks Golf Course on Sunday afternoon.

 

 

The Bears combined for a team score of 383 (+95) in their final regular season match of the season and recorded their lowest team score of the spring portion of their season. Marymount edged Franklin & Marshall by one stroke for the team title with a total score of 369. Gettysburg finished third with a score of 373 while Arcadia and host Dickinson rounded out the top-five with team scores of 376 and 377, respectively.  

 

 

First-year Kaylin Chen had an impressive round to finish fourth overall with her score of 83 (+11). Chen finished just four strokes off Hunter Gillis of Marymount and Caroline Kurtt of Gettysburg, who tied for first place.

 

 

Senior Jessica Lamarca also earned a top-10 finish on the afternoon as she tied for sixth overall with her score of 86 (+14). Senior Carolyn DeCicco tied for 28th overall with her round score of 105 (+33) and first-year Elliot Schott placed 33rd overall after carding a season-low score of 109 (+37).

 

 

Sophomore Rebecca Chernoff placed 36th overall with her score of 114 (+42) and classmate Bailey Hann finished 38th overall as an individual golfer for the match after carding a 138 (+66).

 

 

The Bears will begin competition at the two-day Centennial Conference Championship meet on Saturday, April 30th at the Honeybrook Golf Club.
