Chen Earns Top-10 finish as Women's Golf Finishes 5th at Ursinus Invitational

ELVERSON, PA. - Ursinus first-year Kaylin Chen turned in a top-10 finish as she led the Bears women's golf team to a fifth-place finish at the Ursinus Invitational Tuesday afternoon.  

Alvernia College earned the team title after finishing with a 325. Marymount finished in second place after tallying a 352, Franklin & Marshall finished just behind in third place with a 360. Centennial Conference opponent Dickinson finished in fourth place with a 393 and the Bears rounded out the top-five with a 399.  

The Bears had six individuals participating at the Stonewall Golf Course, a par-70 course that stretches over 5,194 yards.  

The quintet of Chen, Jessica Lamarca, Rebecca Chernoff, Carolyn DeCicco, and Elliot Schott finished in fifth place with a team total of 399. Sophomore Bailey Hann competed as an individual and finished in 33rd place, signing for a 132.  

Chen opened on the par-5 18th hole and after a bogey on the opening hole, she finished with a birdie and three pars in the afternoon.  

Lamarca finished tied for 12th-place after wrapping up her round with a 94 (+24). Her day was highlighted with pars on the par-5 3rd and par-3 6th hole.  

Chernoff had an impressive day, signing for a 106 and finishing 27th overall. DeCicco (108) and Schott (114) finished closely behind for 28th and 31st place finishes.  

The Bears will return to action on Monday as they travel to the Muhlenberg Invitational.
