McGarrigle Leads Women's Golf at Spring Invite

ELVERSON, Pa. – Emily McGarrigle notched another top-5 finish to pace the Ursinus College women's golf team at its annual spring invitational.

McGarrigle carded an 11-over-par 81 on Stonewall's North Course, placing third in a field of 32 competitors. The senior, who landed four strokes behind Alvernia's Emily Gilbert, was coming off a runner-up showing at the Muhlenberg Invitational the previous day. McGarrigle finished with nine pars and scored over a bogey on just one hole.

McGarrigle's latest strong performance helped the Bears total 488 strokes on the day, 15 better than their tally at Lehigh Country Club on Monday.

Freshman Jessica Lamarca assisted with that effort, breaking 100 for the second time this season with a 90. The rookie posted three pars on the afternoon, including two par-3 holes – the 2nd and 13th.

Junior Alissa DiGuglielmo shot a 144, a personal best by 12 strokes. Classmate Suzanne Angermeier finished with a 194.

The Bears tune up for the Centennial Conference championship by taking part in the two-day Gettysburg Invitational on Saturday and Sunday at Hanover Country Club.
