Women's Golf Hosts Fall Invitational

POTTSTOWN, Pa. – Emily McGarrigle's strong round highlighted the Ursinus College women's golf team's performance at its annual fall invitational at Raven's Claw Golf Club on Monday.

McGarrigle carded an 83 to tie for 3rd place in a field of 33 golfers, her second consecutive top-five finish to open the season.

The Bears placed fifth in the team standings with a 423. Millersville ran way with the crown with a cumulative 345, followed by Alvernia (370), Dickinson (400), Cabrini (419), Ursinus, and Juniata (437).

McGarrigle finished six strokes behind Alvernia's Yupha Muzyka (77) and likely would have challenged for the individual title if not for a 10 on the par-5 10th. Other than that, the senior was just seven shots over par. She notched eight pars and made birdie on the 14th and 17th holes, both par-3s.

Freshman Jessica Lamarca shot 101 in her first full round as a collegiate golfer. She was consistently in the bogie range and added a par on the 18th hole.

Sophomore Addisen Miller had a 104 for the Bears, registering pars on the 7th hole (par-5) and 14th hole.

Freshman Carolyn DeCicco finished with a 135, including a bogey on the par-3 14th, and junior Suzanne Angermeier shot 180.

The Bears take on Jefferson in a dual match at the ACE Club in Lafayette Hill on October 7.
