McGarrigle Takes 3rd at Revolutionary Classic

ELKTON, Md. – The Ursinus College women's golf team played back-to-back rounds at Patriots Glen National Golf Club over the weekend, culminating with the annual Revolutionary Collegiate Classic on Sunday.

Junior Emily McGarrigle shot an 86 to finish third overall in the Revolutionary Classic, where the Bears posted an overall tally of 423. McGarrigle was seven shots back of Jefferson's Kinley Lingenfelter, who led the Division II Rams to the team title with a 357.

Senior Sarah Thompson's 89 was good for fourth place on the 6405-yard track, giving Ursinus a pair of sub-90 scorers for the third time this season.

Senior Meaghan Corbin carded a 108 to take eighth place, and senior Shelby Bryant shot 140. Sophomore Alissa DiGuglielmo shot 179, a 19-stroke improvement from her collegiate debut a day earlier.

The Bears played the same course on Saturday and were joined by two golfers from Widener. McGarrigle's 92 led all players, and Corbin shot 100 for her third-best output of the year.

Thompson finished at 114, Bryant scored 125, and DiGuglielmo wrapped up her first-ever round at 198.

The women's golf team hosts the annual Ursinus Invitational at Stonewall on Tuesday.
