ST. DAVIDS, Pa. – Two members of the Ursinus College women's golf team finished in the top 10 and ties at the Eastern Invitational on Monday.
Junior Emily McGarrigle tied for seventh overall with a 91 at St. Davids Golf Club, while senior Sarah Thompson was one stroke behind in a tie for tenth as the Bears placed fourth in a five-team field with a team tally of 424.
Millersville claimed the tournament title with a 344, a full 21 strokes clear of Eastern (365). Alvernia (371) was third, followed by Ursinus and FDU-Florham (515).
McGarrigle posted four pars on the way to her fifth top-10 showing in as many tournaments. Thompson had two pars and a birdie on the par-4 4th hole to shoot 92, also posting her fifth top-10 of the fall.
Senior Meaghan Corbin carded a 106, and classmate Shelby Bryant shot 135.
The Bears continue their season at the Red Devil Classic on Saturday, October 21.
