Women's Golf Wraps up Regular Season

BLUE BELL, Pa. – Sophomore Emily McGarrigle posted her third top-five finish of the season in the Ursinus College women's golf team's final tune-up for the Centennial Conference Championship.

McGarrigle shot an 87 to tie for fifth place in a field of 34 at Cedarbrook Country Club, her third consecutive top-10 placement and sixth of the year. As a team, Ursinus finished fifth of six with a combined tally of 411 at the Arcadia Knight Invitational.

Muhlenberg, which won the Ursinus Spring Invitational last week, captured its second straight team title with a 344. Stevenson was runner-up at 360, followed by Alvernia (379), Albright (406), Ursinus (411), and Arcadia (428).

The Mules' Aine Filler won a match of cards with Alvernia's Emily Gilbert after tying for the individual lead with a 10-over 82.

Sophomore Rebecca Chiger notched her sixth top-10 finish in seven tournaments – she placed 11th in the other – with a 92 to land in a six-way tie for eighth.

Junior Sara Thompson carded a 110, while classmate Shelby Bryant registered a 122, just two strokes off her season low.

The women's golf team takes on the rest of the league in the Centennial Conference Championship this weekend. The two-day event gets underway Saturday at Foxchase Golf Club.
