Records continue to fall for Women's Golf

SANATOGA, Pa. – Another day, another record for the women's golf team.

The women's golf team continues to improve, as on Tuesday at the Ursinus Fall Invitational at Raven's Claw, the Bears set another school record with a total team score of 355. This betters the school record by 17, set last week, and they have dropped 39 strokes since the start of the season.

The host Bears finished in second, 11 strokes behind Alvernia but finished ahead of Gettysburg, Muhlenberg, Susquehanna and Albright.

Freshman Rebecca Chiger led the team for the second straight tournament posting 86.  Matison Leand, also a freshman, shot 88 which was her best round of the season.  Another first year player, Emily McGarrigle, shot 89 continuing her consistent play.

Sophomore Sarah Thompson posted her best fall tournament score, 92, to finish off the record.    Freshman Maddie Noonan and Senior Captain Rebecca Honor shot 98 and 99 respectively.

Sophomore Shelby Bryant posted 130.

The women are scheduled to compete in Ursinus' two-day event at Patriots Glen National Golf Club October 11 and 12.
