Konstanzer Named Player of the Week

LANCASTER, Pa. – On the heels of a pair of monster performances, Ursinus College women's basketball standout Lydia Konstanzer was selected as the Centennial Conference player of the week.

Konstanzer extended her streak of double-doubles to five consecutive games with two huge stat lines in victories over Immaculata and Franklin & Marshall last week. The junior scored 17 points and racked up a career-high 18 rebounds in Thursday's 54-38 triumph at Immaculata, notching the highest rebounding total by a Bear since 2012. On Saturday, Konstanzer deposited 21 points and pulled down 15 rebounds to help Ursinus hold off the Diplomats in a 96-89 overtime thriller.

A team co-captain, Konstanzer logged seven steals in those two games, including five against F&M. She totaled 13 offensive rebounds and four blocks. Konstanzer is a weekly honoree for the third time in her career.

The women's basketball team has won six of its last seven games. The Bears are fourth in the conference at 5-2 with home games against McDaniel (Thursday) and second-place Johns Hopkins (Saturday) on tap this week.
