Konstanzer Collects All-CC Honors

2017-18 All-CC Women's Basketball

LANCASTER, Pa. – On the heels of another outstanding season, Ursinus College women's basketball star Lydia Konstanzer was named to the All-Centennial Conference second team.

Konstanzer is a second team honoree for the second consecutive campaign, joining Jessica Porada '16 as the only players in program history to collect all-conference recognition in their first two seasons. The 2017 Centennial Conference and D3hoops.com Mid-Atlantic Region Rookie of the Year was even better this year.

Konstanzer continued to solidify herself as one of the league's premier stars, averaging 16.6 points and 9.8 rebounds per game to lead Ursinus to its first playoff appearance in six years. In addition to those eye-popping numbers, each of which rank third in the CC, Konstanzer led the conference in steals (59). She was second in points (431) and field goals made (180), third in total rebounds (254) and offensive rebounds (88), fourth in field-goal percentage (47.1) and minutes per game (32.3), and fifth in points per 40 minutes (20.5).

Konstanzer's 431 points and 180 field goals made were the fifth-highest single-season totals in Ursinus history, and her rebound total ranks eighth on the all-time charts.

Despite being the focus of every opponent's game plan, Konstanzer still managed to rack up 13 double-doubles, including a 21-point, 15-rebound effort in the CC first-round game at Johns Hopkins. She scored in double figures in all but four contest, racking up a season-high 26 points against NCAA Tournament qualifier Albright and pouring in 25 points against two-time CC Player of the Year Emily Gibbons and Gettysburg at the Palestra.

Konstanzer also expanded her defensive capabilities in 2018, racking up at least three steals in 12 games and adding 15 blocks.

Konstanzer will now await possible D3hoops.com all-region recognition.

Additionally, senior Rachel Guy was named to the All-CC Sportsmanship Team. The team captain was third on the team in scoring at 6.6 points per game and shot 79.6 percent from the foul line.
