WBB closes season with loss to Muhlenberg, 70-56

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Muhlenberg senior forward Leanna Tallamy had a game-high 28 points and 19 rebounds as the Mules (15-3 Centennial, 18-7) secured the second-seed in the upcoming Centennial Conference playoffs with a 70-56 win over Ursinus (6-12 Centennial, 8-17) on Saturday afternoon in women's basketball action.

Senior forward Laura Gregory had 11 points for Muhlenberg, while junior center Christina Santone and senior guard Janelle Fleet each had ten.

For Ursinus, junior forward Alyssa Polimeni had a team-high 14 points, with sophomore guards Olivia Kane and Adrienne Cellucci each netting nine.

Ursinus also got eight rebounds from junior forward Elana Roadcloud.

The Bears held an early five point lead at 5-0 with 18:59 on a layup by freshman guard Rachel Guy. Muhlenberg eventually took the lead at 8-7 with 15:59 left, but, could not pull away as the Bears hung around throughout the first half, and only trailed by one at halftime 29-28.

In the second half, Muhlenberg slowly started to pull away and led by as much as 16 points. The Mules did not have a three-point field goal in the game (0-for-11), but, shot 17-for-33 from the field in the second half (51.5 percent).
