Women's Basketball falls to McDaniel, 77-63

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – McDaniel put five players in double figures, paced by 14 points from Emma Wingerd and Lindsay Nichols, as the Green Terror (9-1 Centennial, 15-1) defeated Ursinus (5-6 Centennial, 6-11) 77-63 Saturday afternoon in women's basketball play.

Ursinus got a game-high 18 points from junior forward Jessica Porada and 15 points from junior guard Alyssa Polimeni in the loss. Sophomore guard Hannah Kelly had nine points off the bench for the Bears.

Ursinus led after the opening tip as Polimeni socred a layup to give the Bears a 2-0 lead, before McDaniel outscored the Bears 23-8 over the next ten minutes to take a 23-10 lead on a jumper by Steph Perez.

The Bears would get the lead under double digits just one more time, as Porada hit a jumper with 6:56 left to get Ursinus within 25-16. McDaniel would score the next eight points to put the game out of reach.

The Bears did finish 5-for-5 from the foul line, as Polimeni made all the foul shots she took in the game. McDaniel got 13 rebounds from Wingerd, as the Green Terror had a 33-21 rebounding edge.

Ursinus goes to Haverford Tuesday.
