Women's Basketball dropped by Johns Hopkins, 56-37

BALTIMORE, Md. – Johns Hopkins got 15 points from Katie Clark and ten points from Maggie Fruehan as the Blue Jays (10-5, 7-2 Centennial) defeated Ursinus (6-9, 5-4 Centennial) 56-37 on Saturday afternoon in women's basketball action.

The Blue Jays held Ursinus to just 21.9 percent shooting (14-for-64) in the win.

Ursinus was led by nine points from junior forward Jessica Porada, with sophomore guard Gianna Pownall and junior forward Elana Roadcloud each scoring six.

Ursinus took its only lead in the first half on a basket by Roadcloud with 13:06 left to make the score 10-9. From there, Johns Hopkins went on a 16-5 run to end the half and go up 26-15.

In the second half, the Blue Jays extended the lead to as much as 24.

The Bears, however, forced 31 turnovers on the afternoon. The Blue Jays held a commanding 57-31 lead on the glass. Roadcloud finished with eight rebounds for the Bears, who head to Muhlenberg on Wednesday.
