Women's Basketball tripped up by Albright, 81-69

READING, Pa. – Despite putting three players in double figures, Ursinus (2-4) dropped a cross-county contest to Albright (3-2) 81-69 Saturday afternoon in women's basketball action at the Bollman Center.

Junior forward Jessica Porada (Morristown, N.J./Morris Catholic) scored 17 points to lead the Bears, while junior guard Alyssa Polimeni (Berkeley Heights, N.J./Governor Livingston Regional) and sophomore forward Ali Abbonizio (West Chester, Pa./Academy of Notre Dame) each had 11 in the loss. Porada had a game-high 13 rebounds for the Bears.

Albright was led by Kelecla Harris who had a game-high 27 points, with Kadijah Bishop and Emily O'Donnell each getting 13 points.

Trailing 46-31 at halftime, Ursinus was able to get as close as six when junior forward Caroline Shimrock (Lansdale, Pa./Gwynedd-Mercy Academy) made a jumper with 9:17 left in the game for a 55-49 score.

Down by ten with 5:36 left (66-56), Ursinus made one last push and got to within seven twice but could not get any closer.

Ursinus hosts F&M on Tuesday evening at 8.
