LANCASTER, Pa. – The Ursinus College softball team swept a doubleheader from the Diplomats of Franklin & Marshall on Saturday afternoon, to remain perfect in league play.

In the first game, the Bears had 16 hits as they won 12-0, while Ursinus (14-2, 4-0 Centennial) needed just five innings in game two to win 16-0 over F&M (5-7, 1-5 Centennial).

In the opener, Ursinus struck in the top of the first as freshman first baseman Allison Pfrommer (Franklinville, N.J./Delsea Regional) scored on a RBI double by freshman right fielder Kelly Kalovcak (Pottsville, Pa./Minersville Area). The Bears went up 2-0 after three as Pfrommer scored her second run of the game on a sacrifice RBI by freshman catcher Emelie McFarland (Sykesville, Md./Century).

The lead went up to 3-0 in the sixth as sophomore third baseman Kate Kehoe (Mariposa, Calif./Mariposa County) scored on a RBI double by freshman centerfielder Madison Davis.

In the seventh, every player scored a run. The inning was highlighted by a three-run home run by junior left fielder Liz Lowes (Manasquan, N.J./Manasquan) and a grand slam by McFarland.

Pfrommer, freshman centerfielder Madison Davis (Bothwell, Wash./Bothell), sophomore shortstop Cassie Brown (Warminster, Pa./Archbishop Wood) and junior third baseman Kristen Gallagher (Newtown Square, Pa./Marple Newtown) each had two hits. McFarland had five RBI, while Madison Davis had three RBI, as did Lowes.

Senior pitcher Lauren Davis-Macedonia (Mullica Hill, N.J./Clearview Regional) improved to 10-1 with the win. She allowed just one hit and struck out 14. Freshman pitcher Jennilyn Weber (Valley View, Pa./Tri-Valley) pitched one inning of relief, striking out two.

In game two, Ursinus scored five times in the second and ten times in the third inning. Weber, who played as the designated player in game two, was 3-for-4 with three runs scored and two RBI. Kehoe, Davis, Lowes and freshman third baseman Samantha Sinisi (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) each had two hits. Sinisi also had a three-run home run in the third inning.

Davis-Macedonia got the win in game two, allowing just one hit while striking out six. Weber pitched two innings allowing one hit while fanning four.
