Men's XC Places 10th at Paul Short Invitational

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Ursinus College men's cross country team finished 10th out of 45 teams in the Paul Short Invitational at Lehigh University. James McDaid led the way for the Bears, recording a top-20 finish with a time of 26:03.66 – 15 seconds away from the top-10.  

Next to cross the finish was Marcos Maciel who beat his previous 8k PR time. The sophomore placed 58th with a personal best time of 26:45.274, beating his previous of 26:49.93.

Ed Martinez (26:50.89), Steve Wilkins (27:04.512), Colin McCarty (27:38.695), Kyle Berardi (27:41.582), and John DeLia (27:52.38) all placed in the top-150 and earned personal bests as well.

It's the first time that the Bears' top-5 finishers have ever averaged under 27-minutes at a meet. 

Payton Stanziani, Brandon Slaboda, and Dylan Simms all competed in the open 8k race as well. Stanziani was the first of the Bears to cross the finish with a time of 28:44.18  while Slaboda recorded a PR with a time of 29:44.33.
