Men's XC Soars at Stockton

GALLOWAY TWP., N.J. – James McDaid, Marcos Maciel, and Ed Martinez each finished in the top-15 in a huge field of more than 200 runners as the Ursinus College cross country team earned a fifth-place showing at Stockton's Osprey Invitational.

The Bears' pace-setting trio all finished within three seconds of one another, McDaid leading the pack in 12th place at 26:47.90. Maciel notched a personal-best 26:49.93 to take 13th, and Martinez was 15th with his own collegiate best (26:52.04).

Jesse Wun was next to cross the line in 27:49.57, also a new personal best, and Steve Wilkins knocked over 90 seconds off his 8k debut with a 27:54.59 (44th overall). Daniel Powell also posted a massive PR with a 27:58.24 to land just inside the first 50 finishers.

John DeLia took 65th overall (28:23.32), while Kyle Berardi (28:36.64, 73rd), John Haase (28:41.99, 77th), Caleb Torres (28:51.52, 80th), and Andre Kelly (29:03.08, 84th) also landed within the top-100. Torres and Kelly each logged a personal best.

Brandon Slaboda's 30:09.09 was good for a PR, as was Nate Raffier's 31:37.24.

The Bears head to the Paul Short Invitational at Lehigh on October 5.
