Men's Track & Field Wraps Up Regular Season at Penn Relays and TCNJ

EWING, N.J. – The Ursinus Men's Track & Field team saw student-athletes competing in a pair of events over the weekend in their final tune-up before Centennial Conference Championships next week. The Bears had a pair of relay teams compete in the Penn Relays at Franklin Field while most of the squad headed to TCNJ for the Lions Invitational.

 

 

On Friday, the Bears saw a 4x100 and 4x400 relay team race at the historic Penn Relays that returned for the first time since April 2019. The 4x400 relay team of senior Tyler Reilly, sophomore Devon Greaves, junior Daniel Tabor, and junior Payton Stanziani finished second overall after posting a time of 3:21.53. the 4x100 relay team of senior Octavious Carter, Reilly, Tabor, and senior Zach Crebbin finished 11th overall after posting a time of 42.37, which is the current fastest time in the Centennial Conference this season.

 

 

At TCNJ, Freshman Brody Myers topped his school record mark of 14-11 ft. in the pole vault and finished third overall in the event. Senior Ken Sprankle matched his career-best mark of 13-5.25 ft. and freshman Evan Mitchell recorded a career-best mark of well at 12-11.5 ft. and finished in 15th.

 

 

Crebbin earned a first-place finish in the high jump on Saturday after recording a jump of 6-2 ft. He also finished 8th in the 100-meter dash after recording a career-best time of 11.20. Freshman Trey Rolle also competed in the high jump and finished seventh with his mark of 5-7 ft. Freshman Michael Agbeye was the lone competitor in the triple jump for the Bears and finished seventh on his jump of 40-4 ft.

 

 

Junior Isaiah Battle and senior Nick Galbraith each earned top-10 finishes in the hammer throw as Battle placed seventh on his throw of 150-4 ft. while Galbraith earned a ninth-place finish at 148-4 ft.  Battle also led four Bears in the discus with his throw of 140-9 ft. and finished 11th. Freshman Chase Shaneman placed 19th in the discus with his mark of 121-6 ft. and led the Bears in the javelin with a throw of 167-1 ft.

 

In sprints, senior Tyree Williams Jackson finished second among Ursinus runners and 15th overall in the 100-meter dash on a career-best time of 11.32. Williams-Jackson also posted a career-best time in the 200 meter dash at 23.21. Freshman Mason Jolivette registered a career-best time of 51.19 in the 400-meter dash which is now the seventh-fastest time in the Centennial. Jolivette also finished 10th in the 400-meter hurdles with his time of 59.82.

 

Senior Marcos Maciel earned a third place finish in the 5,000 meters after recording a time of 16:01.60.

 

 

The Bears return to action on Friday, May 6th as they will open competition in the 2022 Centennial Conference Championships at Patterson Field
