Men's T&F Racks up Personal Bests in Boston

BOSTON – The Ursinus College men's track and field team racked up a plethora of personal records in a strong overall effort at Boston University's David Hemery Valentine Invitational on Saturday.

Senior Andre Kelly was in the vanguard of a large set of individual bests in the 800-meter run, maintaining his place at eighth on the Centennial Conference performance list with a mark of 1:57.58. Freshman Bradley Duncan-Taylor was just off his season best at 2:01.88, while junior John DeLia (2:03.18) and freshman Edward Martinez (2:03.98) were neck and neck and senior Jonny Cope (2:06.10) joined them with a PR of his own.

Junior James McDaid fell just shy of his own program record with a 4:25.50 in the mile. Freshman Marcos Maciel, a native of nearby Medford, capitalized on his "home track advantage" with a massive personal best of 4:29.55, and sophomore Kyle Berardi achieved one with a mark of 4:37.23.

Freshman Brandon Slaboda moved into the top-10 in the CC with a clocking of 52.50 in the 400, where he was joined in registering a new career-best time by freshman Logan Yoquinto (53.04) and junior Brody Johnson (54.11).

Freshman Tyler Reilly lifted himself into sixth in the conference with a personal-best 23.15 in the 200, where fellow rookie Octavious Carter came in at 23.56 and Johnson added a second PR of 24.09.

Freshman Zach Crebbin vaulted into fourth place in the CC with a personal record of 6-00.75 in the high jump.
