Myers Garners All-Region Honors

NEW ORLEANS, La. – Junior Adam Myers of the Ursinus College men's track and field team garnered All-Mideast Region recognition from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), it was announced Monday.

To be named all-region, an athlete must be ranked in the top five of an individual event in the region, according to final TFRRS date, or be a member of a top-three relay group.

Myers earned his first all-region nod on the strength of his silver medal-winning shot put effort at the Centennial Conference indoor championships. He outdistanced his previous personal record by more than three feet with a heave of 49-4.50, which landed behind only Franklin & Marshall's Logan Lewis. Since the first CC indoor track championship in 1994, only five winning throws traveled further than Myers' top toss, which ranks fifth in the Mideast Region.

Sophomore Sam Pope was just outside the all-region cut-off; his triple jump best of 45-5 is eighth-best in the region.
