Men's Indoor Track and Field fifth at Centennials

HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Ursinus College men's track and field team finished fifth at the Centennial Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships on Sunday with a team score of 50 points.

The lone top finish for the Bears came in the 4x400 meter relay with a time of 3:27.72 by the team of Anthony Sierzega, Richard Schulz, Andrew Mackin and Darius Jones took the top spot, while the Bears were fifth in the 4x200 relay at 1:34.28.

Senior Darius Jones (Lawnside, N.J./Haddon Heights) had a great meet, as he was second in the high jump at 6-8, seventh in the 400 at 52.20 and eighth in the 200 at 23.50.

Senior Evan Shea (Acton-Boxborough, Mass./Acton) was third in the 60 hurdles at 8.70, dropping his time down considerably from his prelim mark of 9.06. He was also fourth in the high jump at 6-2.

Junior Andrew Mackin (Radnor, Pa./Radnor) was fifth at 1:58.10 in the 800, while senior Anthony Sierzega (Phoenixville, Pa./Phoenixville) was eighth in the 400 at 52.24.

In the distance relays, the Bears were eighth in the 4x800 at 9:00.49, while finishing eighth in the Distance Medley with a time of 11:37.37.

Freshman Adam Myers (Birdsboro, Pa./Daniel Boone) was sixth in the shot put at 43-02.50.
