Men's Track second at Colden Invitational

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Ursinus College men's track and field team took second at the Frank Colden Invitational on Saturday with a team score of 116 points.

The men had five first place finishes on the day, with sophomore Chris Rountree (Lawnside, N.J./Haddon Heights) winning the 55 hurdles at 7.89 and the triple jump at 46-02.50 feet.

Sophomore Jordan Grannum (New Rochelle, N.Y./Brunswick School) won the 200 dash at 22.89 and was second in the 55 dash at 6.65.

Senior Brendan Gifford (Lansdale, Pa./Lansdale Catholic) was first at 2:00.45 in the 800 run, with junior Andrew Carr (Spring City, Pa./Phoenixville) in first in the shot put at 45-8 feet.

Senior Charles Prete (Hendon, Va./Kellum) was fifth in the 55 dash at 6.83, while senior Jeremy Garavel (Redding, Conn./Joel Barlow) was sixth in the 800 run at 2:04.63 followed by junior Ben Mosher (Hershey, Pa./Lower Dauphin) in eighth at 2:06.09.

In the mile run, sophomore Mark Gapinski (Sinking Spring, Pa./Holy Name) was eighth at 4:38.95. In the 5k, freshman Jatin Narang (Germantown, Md./Clarksburg) was second at 15:55.30, sophomore Sam Stortz (Dresher, Pa./Upper Dublin) in third at 15:55.33 and Garavel in fifth at 16:15.29.

In the 55 hurdles, freshman Chris Flood (Houston, Texas/Kingwood) was fifth at 8.95.

In the 4x4 relay, Gifford, Grannum, Mosher and junior Lance Jones (Philadelphia, Pa./Friends Central School) was second at 3:32.80.

In the field events, senior John Yokomizo (West Windsor, N.J./West Windsor Plainsboro-South) was third at 10 feet even, while in the long jump, Rountree was fifth at 20-01.75. Prete took seventh at 19-2.50.

In the shot put, senior Ian Macomber (Portland, Maine/Maine School of Science/Math) was fifth at 39-10.75, freshman Brian Clancy (Havertown, Pa./Havertown) was seventh at 37-05.00 and freshman Gabriel Schwartz was eighth at 36-02.75.
