Men's Tennis Swept at Haverford

HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Ursinus College men's tennis team ran into a powerful squad at Haverford and dropped a 9-0 Centennial Conference result on Tuesday.

The Fords, ranked 11th in the Atlantic South Region, flexed their muscles in remaining unbeaten in conference play at 6-0. Haverford conceded just seven games in doubles and only eight games across six singles courts.

Sophomores Matt Fontanese and Mason Groff played to an 8-3 decision at No. 1 doubles, while junior Connor DeFaber-Schumacher and senior Jake Lachowicz matched that score line at No. 2.

Freshman Simbarashe Kanjanda won the most games by an Ursinus singles player, losing 6-2, 6-1 at No. 4.

The Bears return home to face Immaculata on Thursday before honoring Lachowicz as part of senior day festivities prior to taking on Gettysburg on Saturday.
