LANCASTER, Pa. – After an impressive collegiate debut, Ursinus College freshman Mason Groff was selected as the Centennial Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week.
Groff posted a pair of wins as the Bears opened their dual-match season with a 9-0 sweep of Arcadia on Saturday night. The rookie cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 victory at number two singles and teamed with senior Peter Shields for an 8-4 result at second doubles.
Groff is 2-1 in both singles and doubles on the young season, having also competed at the ITA Southeast Regional during the fall.
The men's tennis team resumes play with five matches on its annual spring trip to Florida, which gets underway on March 5.
