Men's Swimming Fourth After Day 1

LANCASTER, PA. - After day one of the Centennial Conference Championships, the Ursinus College Men's Swimming team currently sits in fourth place after tallying 76 total points.  

Defending conference champion Franklin and Marshall sit in first place with 116 total points, Swarthmore is just behind them totaling 96 points and Gettysburg rounds out the top-three with 88 points through four events.  

In the opening relay of the meet, the Bears earned a fifth-place finish with a time of 1:33.75. The 200-yard medley relay team consisted of Matt Snyder, Ryan Carkhuff, Stephen Lyons, and Ryan Schreffler. Their time of 1:33.75 was three seconds faster than their seed time of 1:36.26, which took place at the Gettysburg Invitational.  

Meanwhile, in the 800-yard freestyle relay, the Bears crushed their previous best time by 16 seconds. The quartet of Jonah Kasznay, Jan Perez-Bonilla, Jake Hennegan, and Maxwell Valeriano contributed for a fourth-place finish with a time of 7:01.24.  

The championship resumes Friday at 10 a.m. with prelims in selected events.
